When asked how the Trump administration compares to the Biden administration, Dr. Anthony Fauci said his impression as recently as 15 minutes prior to speaking with reporters was that the new administration would be “completely transparent” and if things went wrong, “not to point fingers but to correct them.” Fauci said there were things that had been said in the past, such as regarding hydroxychloroquine, were “uncomfortable because they were not based on scientific fact.” He said he took “no pleasure at all” to being in a situation of contradicting former president Donald Trump, but said under the Biden administration it is “liberating” to let the science speak and not feel like there will be repercussions if you contradict the president.
