Biden Marks ‘Bloody Sunday’ by Signing Voting Rights Order | MSNBC

President Joe Biden signed an executive order aimed at leveraging federal resources to expand access to voting. The order comes on the 56th anniversary of “Bloody Sunday,” when 600 peaceful protesters marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Ala., led by the the late congressman John Lewis. The demonstrators were urging for the passage of the Voting Rights Act before being met with violence from white police officers.
